Episode #106:  Snakes of South Dakota

In this episode we visit Reptile Gardens, the Outdoor Campus in Sioux Falls, the Badlands, and Harding County in an attempt to find snakes. We are in luck and find a Yellow Bellied Racer, a Fox Snake, a prairie rattlesnake, and the rarely-seen Western Hognose Snake.

Guest Expert: Terry Phillip
Curator of Reptiles
Reptile Gardens near Rapid City, SD
Terry has been interested in reptiles since the 3rd grade. As a child in Colorado, when he wasn't out exploring for snakes, he spent his time reading reptile books. Terry managed a pet store in Colorado for five years, and he eventually developed one of the largest collections of reptiles in the state at the time. He moved to Rapid City, South Dakota in 1997 to work as an alligator wrestler at Reptile Gardens, quickly becoming the Curator of the Reptile Department.
