2017 NPR Tiny Desk Concert: Heath Johnson

Heath Johnson is an Americana Country songwriter from Spearfish, SD. He organizes the South Dakota Songwriters group and activities around the Black Hills area and puts together songwriters rounds for other local artists. His musical influences range from classic country, to modern americana, alternative rock, and red dirt music. Along with his solo shows, he is also the lead in a country bluegrass band named Heartland Mainstay, and a duo Americana Honky Tonk project named The Ruthless West. He has been playing music since a young boy and got his start playing the trombone. Now, he plays guitar and strives for a genuine acoustic sound at his solo shows.
