The Dahl Arts Center in Rapid City will hold the 12th Annual Dahl Mountain Photo Competition + Exhibit through May 7.
Chris Huber, photo editor at The Rapid City Journal and Steve Babbitt, regional artist/photography professor, have selected this year’s participants through a blind jury process. There are three exhibit categories – youth (18 and under), adult amateur/hobbyist and adult experienced/professional. Judges awarded prizes for First, Second and Third place in all three categories, plus a Best of Show award. Additional awards include Curator’s Choice and People’s Choice awards. The winning photos were printed in The Rapid City Journal and featured on their website.
Visitors to the exhibit will can vote for their choice to win the Peg Sagen Memorial People’s Choice Award, named in honor of Peg Sagen, former editor of The Rapid City Journal. The winner will be announced on May 10.
The Mountain Photo Competition + Exhibit is part of the Dahl Mountain Culture Festival.
