Vermillion Gets a PBS Nod

Last Updated by Heather Benson on

"I'd also like to draw your attention to someone called Gretchen Elise Fruman, who appears to spring from somewhere called Vermillion, South Dakota."

-Nurse Crane on Call the Midwife

Believe it or not, Vermillion, SD was mentioned on the April 23rd episode (S6, Ep4) of the popular PBS show, Call the Midwife. The midwives are looking for new employees and two names pop out on the list of candidates – one, a man and the other, a woman who “springs from somewhere called Vermillion, South Dakota.”

Spoiler Alert: Neither get an interview: they have a “No men, no Americans” policy.

The segment begins at 35:29:

You can access all episodes of Call the Midwife here.
