SDPB's "Dakota LIfe" will present a feature showcasing the Dakota Western Heritage Festival held in Fort Pierre, Sept. 11 - 13.

The Festival is a celebration of the many things that make life in western South Dakota so special. The event features a day-long wagon train and trail ride and two days of demonstrations and entertainment. It's a chance to hear cowboy poetry and live music, enjoy a good old-fashioned steak feed, and get a look at some authentic artifacts of the Old West. Contemporary Western art and crafts are also on display.

For many, it's also a chance to get together with friends and neighbors in an entertaining, family-friendly environment.

The segment will air on SDPB's Dakota LIfe Program on Thursday, Oct. 1, at 8:00pm CT | 7:00 MT. It will be re-broadcasting on Sunday, Oct. 3, at 1:00pm CT | Noon MT.
