SDPB Radio Debuts On Point with Tom Ashbrook

Featuring a diversity of guests calling in from around the country, On Point with Tom Ashbrook debuts on SDPB Radio. On Point is a nationally-syndicated two-hour call-in program that addresses news issues, as well as arts, culture, technology, health, and business topics.

A sound-rich discussion program that “values what America is thinking,” On Point has been positively received in over 300 NPR member radio markets, getting high points for reinventing the talk show format by seeking out a breadth of callers from a variety of backgrounds and, in host Ashbrook’s words, “being a connective tissue for all of America.”

On Point debuted on Boston’s WBUR in the aftermath of 9/11.Prior to hosting On Point, award-winning journalist Tom Ashbrook spent a decade as a foreign correspondent in India, Hong Kong, and Tokyo. During the late 1980s Ashbrook became foreign editor for The Boston Globe.Jack Beatty, a writer and senior editor at The Atlantic, is a news analyst for On Point.
