Ethan Bortnick: PBS Special Filmed in Sioux Falls

This spring, musical prodigy Ethan Bortnick wowed South Dakota fans with his high-energy concert at Sioux Fall’s Washington Pavilion. The event included appearances from the Brookings High School Choir and the SDSU Symphony and SDSU Concert Choir. Peter Yarrow of legendary folk music trio Peter, Paul and Mary, and his daughter, musician Bethany Yarrow, also joined Ethan on-stage for several moving classic songs.

SDPB’s Television crew was front-and-center to capture the experience and now – after hours of editing, post-production and final touches from our headquarters in Vermillion – Ethan Bortnick: Generations of Music  premieres not only on SDPB, but on PBS stations nationwide.

At fifteen, Ethan Bortnick is the youngest entertainer to ever record a PBS special. Tune in for rousing renditions of classics by Elton John and Whitney Houston and, of course, audience shots featuring fellow South Dakotans!
