South Dakota Focus: Deer Hunting

Wildlife experts join the program to discuss changes to deer hunting licences.
Panelists include:
- Tony Leif – Director, Division of Wildlife, SD Game Fish & Parks
- Tom Kirschenmann – Deputy Director, Division of Wildlife, SD Game Fish & Parks
- Kevin Robling – Special Projects Coordinator to Secretary of SD Game Fish & Parks
- Emmett Keyser— Regional County Supervisor, SD Game Fish & Parks
With the current proposal, the most significant change going into the October Commission meeting now is that only those drawings for East River, West River, Black Hills and Muzzleloader deer would be combined in the first and second drawings – removing Special Buck, Custer State Park and Refuge Deer.
As revised, applicants would have to choose between one of the four seasons as their first choice and one of the four seasons as their second choice.
