The Madison Bulldogs (10-1) and the Dell Rapids Quarriers (10-1) are set to square off at the Dakota Dome on Thursday night to decide the class 11A state football championship.

Madison Head Coach Max Hodgen said his team is going to have to execute, because Dell Rapids is a strong team.

“Offensively they can put you in a bind, we need to be sound on the defensive side of the football,” said Hodgen. “I tell my guys not to pause, make them earn everything.”

Coach Hodgen said his team is going to make mistakes in the game.

“Mistakes are going to happen, but we can’t let them mess with our head,” said Hodgen.

Dell Rapids beat Sisseton in the regional round of the playoffs. The Quarriers then defeated both Vermillion and West Central to punch their ticket to the dome. Madison has only allowed eight points during the 2014 football post-season. The Bulldogs shut out both Milbank Area and Chamberlain, and then allowed just eight points against Hot Springs.

This game is scheduled for 7:30 pm CT on November 13 in Vermillion. Pre-game will begin 30 minutes prior to kickoff.
