South Dakota High School Activities Association Assistant Executive Director John Krogstrand announced Monday that four additional games have been added to the slate of regular season games for the 2015 football season. This is due to the dissolution of the Highmore-Harrold football team. Each contest features two squads that were originally scheduled to play Highmore-Harrold, and allows each team to maintain a full slate of games for the upcoming season.
The additional games are as follows:
Week Zero, August 28th: Wolsey-Wessington @ Platte-Geddes
Week One, September 4th: Hanson @ Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central
Week Six, October 9th: Sully Buttes @ Hitchcock-Tulare
Week Seven, October 16th: Sunshine Bible Academy @ Potter County
Each of these four games will also be played on the corresponding date in 2016, with the locations being reversed.
“We feel very fortunate that we were able to find an amicable solution for all eight teams who would have otherwise lost a contest for each of the next two years,” Krogstrand stated. “While some of the fixes may not be perfect, the fact that we were able to preserve a full schedule for each of our member schools is a positive resolution for all.”
