Former South Dakota State University men’s basketball coach Scott Nagy is now officially the head coach for Wright State. This means the Jackrabbits are now in the process of searching for a new coach.

During his time at SDSU, Nagy put together an overall record of 410-240, which included three Summit League Championships and three automatic bids to the NCAA tournament (2012, 2013, and 2016).

On Wednesday, Nagy tweeted out a thank you message to everyone who has supported him over his career.

Thank you to SDSU and the state of South Dakota. So many wonderful people touched our family's lives and I'm so grateful.

It’s still unknown who the replacement for Nagy will be, but speculation has already begun. Matt Zimmer with the Argus Leader in Sioux Falls believes these five individuals could fill the void in Brookings.

Possible Candidates:

  • Rob Klinkefus – South Dakota State Assistant Coach
  • Matt Margenthaler – MSU/Mankato Head Coach
  • Tom Billeter – Augustana Head Coach
  • Ryan Miller – UNLV Associate Head Coach
  • TJ Otzelberger – Iowa State Assistant Coach

Who would you like to see as the next SDSU men’s basketball coach?
