Eagen, Minnesota native and South Dakota State University alum Zach Zenner had his best game as a professional football player on Monday Night Football when the Detroit Lions faced the Dallas Cowboys.

The Cowboys defeated the Lions 42-21, but Zenner had a respectable 67-yards on the ground with two rushing touchdowns on just twelve carries. He also caught two balls from quarterback Matthew Stafford for 25-yards.

This is his second year in the National Football League, and on Monday night, he was given some significant playing time.

"Always going out and trying to do the best that I can," said Zenner. "And that’s what I treid to do today, full effort every play, and try to perform to the best of my ability."

On the season, Zenner has 265-yards rushing with three rushing touchdowns.

Zenner was one of the best running backs in South Dakota State football history. He had three seasons (2012, 2013, and 2014) of at least 2,000 yards rushing. Most Jackrabbit fans remember his 99-yard touchdown run in the fall of 2012 against the Kansas Jayhawks.

He declared for the 2015 draft after his senior year of football at SDSU. Zenner went undrafted, but was then signed by the Detroit Lions - where he plays today.

The Detroit Lions and the Green Bay Packers will play this upcoming week on Sunday Night Football, and it will decide the NFC North Champion for 2016.
