Try some Yummy Delicious Snacks!

Mini Veggie Pizzas  
Ingredients:
2 tbsp Garden Vegetable light cream cheese spread
1 whole wheat bagel
1 cup chopped vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, carrots)
Directions:
1. Spread 1 tbsp of cream cheese on each bagel half. 
2. Sprinkle vegetables over cream cheese. 
3. Enjoy bagel pizza!


Buddy's Trail Mix
Ingredients:
Whole grain fish crackers
Mini pretzels
Raisins or other kinds of dried fruit
Your choice of nuts
Directions:
1. Measure 1 cup of the crackers
2. Measure 1 cup of the mini pretzels
3. Measure 1 cup of the dried fruit 
4. Measure 1 cup of the nuts
5. Mix all of the ingredients together in a bowl
6. Using a ½ cup measuring cup, scoop out ½ cup of the trail mix and put into a baggie.
7. Keep doing this until about 6-7 baggies are done.
8. Make sure the baggies are sealed and in a place where you can grab them for a snack later.
10. Clean up the mess, eat, and enjoy!


Banana Dog (Hot Dog Banana) 
Ingredients:
3/4 c. Smuckers Natural® peanut butter
2 tbsp honey
4 flour whole wheat hotdog buns 
2 small bananas
Directions: 
1. Stir peanut butter and honey together. 
2. Spread flour tortilla with peanut butter mixture. 
3. Peel bananas and cut in half lengthwise. 
4. Place 1 banana half into each tortilla. 
5. Can top with condiments if desired - chopped peanuts, etc. 
6. Roll tortilla up and chow down!


Super Smoothie 
Ingredients:
2 cups strawberries (washed with the stems cut off)
1 cup of orange juice
1 (8 oz ) container of lowfat strawberry or vanilla yogurt
2 cups of ice or about 8 ice cubs
1 banana (peeled and cut in ½)
Directions:
In a blender, combine all of the ingredients and blend until smooth.
Note: Other types of fruit could be substituted for the strawberries.


It's a Wrap (Veggie Tortillas)
Ingredients:
Whole grain flour tortillas
Cut up fresh veggies
Lean Deli-Meat
Lowfat or fat free dressing
Directions:
Place the flour tortilla on a plate. Top with veggies and meat and drizzle with lowfat or fat free dressing. Roll up the tortilla and eat.
 

Fruit Bagels  
Ingredients:
low fat fruit flavored cream cheese
whole grain bagels
fresh strawberries or any other favorite berry (like blueberries)
mandarin oranges packed in juice or water
bananas
cinnamon
Directions:
1. Put the berries in the strainer and wash under running water and let drain then put the clean berries in a bowl.
2. Open the can of mandarin oranges and dump them into the strainer in the sink and let the juice drain.
3. With a butter knife and clean cutting board, slice up some of the strawberries, bananas, and mandarin oranges. 
4. Put ½ of a whole grain bagel on a plate.
5. Spread the low fat cream cheese on the bagel.
6. Top the bagel with the fruit.
7. Sprinkle a little bit of cinnamon on top.
8. Put the leftover fruit into baggies or storage containers and put in the refrigerator. 
9. Clean up the mess, eat, and enjoy!


Parfait Power (Yogurt Parfait) 
Ingredients:
Your favorite flavor of low fat, lite yogurt.
Your favorite dried or canned fruit packed in juice or water.
Whole grain crunchy cereal.
Lite whipped toping.
Directions:
1. Open the can of fruit if you are using canned fruit. Pour the fruit into a strainer in the sink and let drain.
2. If the canned fruit is in big pieces, cut up some smaller pieces for your parfait.
3. Using a serving spoon or spatula, scoop some of the yogurt into the bottom of the
4. glass.
5. Then top with some of the dried and/or canned fruit and some of the crunchy cereal.
6. Repeat steps 6 and 7 until the parfait dish is full.
7. Top with a little of the lite whipped toping and crunchy cereal.
8. Put the extra fruit in a storage container and put in the refrigerator.
9. Clean up the mess, eat, and enjoy!


Pizza Snack (Mini Veggie Pizza) 
Ingredients:
Whole grain English Muffins
Pizza Sauce (note - salsa could be used instead if desired)
Lowfat Mozzarella Cheese
Green Pepper or other types of veggies
Directions:
Split and toast the English Muffins. Top with toppings and microwave for 30-45 seconds until the cheese melts.
