Big Band Spotlight - 11/08/2009

One of the most disappointing things in Dizzy Gillespie's life was when finances forced the break up of his big band in 1950.  Gillespie got a second chance in 1956 when the Eisenhower Administration sent Gillespie, with an all-star band, on an international goodwill tour.  Listen to music from the group Gillespie called, "the finest big band I ever had," on this week's Big Band Spotlight.
