People have been molding clay and firing it into useful objects for thousands of years. But, considering the long history of pottery, artist Jess Elofsen of rural Brandon describes modern methods as those developed in, say, the last couple thousand years. Elofsen does do contemporary ceramics, but part of the process he uses goes back to the very beginning.
