The "Classics" with Owen DeJong and Susan Hanson is a classical music program with a variety of music from the ages to modern compositions. Each Wednesday and Friday are request days. Make requests at 1-800-456-0766 or e-mail to classics@sdpb.org.

Owen DeJong, a native South Dakotan, has been host of Classics since the mid-1990s. The mellow radio host is also an accomplished violinist and he earned his master’s in violin from the University of South Dakota in 2002. He’s pretty handy with fiddle tunes as well and has performed throughout South Dakota as part of the Poker Alice Band and with other combos.

Susan Hanson grew up on the Northern Plains with a childhood full of music - piano, voice and various brass and percussion instruments. She studied English, journalism and music at the University of South Dakota and has been with SDPB Radio since 1999.
