House Local Government

There are 40 Legislative Days scheduled for the 2003 session. Standing Legislative Committees meet in regularly scheduled sessions during the morning hours of each Legislative Day. Some committees will hold special evening meetings. The House Local Government Committee is scheduled to meet Tuesday and Thursday at 10am in room 464 of the Capitol.

HB 1105 -clarify which establishment may provide or allow the consumption of alcoholic beverages on Sundays.
HB 1056 -define the premises of a licensee that may be issued an on-sale license outside a municipality.

HB 1120 - require that counties be reimbursed for housing persons sent to county jail in lieu of the penitentiary.
HB 1131 - establish or increase certain penalties related to election and voting offenses.
HB 1133 - make certain municipal ordinance adoption procedures consistent.
HB 1155 - permit a county to file a lien against the property of the parents for payment of temporary care, temporary custody, shelter, or detention provided to a child.
HB 1156 - provide a uniform method for establishing a fee to obtain copies of marriage records.

SB 67- modify the conditions under which contracts with local officers are permitted.
SB 75- revise the requirements for irrigation district directors.
SB 221- revise certain provisions related to the formation of ambulance districts.
HB 1137- provide for a civil action and civil penalty for certain open meeting law violations and to repeal certain criminal penalties regarding open meeting law violations

SB 97- clarify a mayor's authority to solemnize marriages.
SB 123- revise the definition of residence for election purposes.
SB 124- clarify certain publication requirements.
SB 125- revise certain provisions concerning joint county and municipal planning and zoning.

SB 3-  revise the convention facility on-sale alcoholic beverage license requirements.
SB 134 - permit county commissions to determine renewal fees for on-sale liquor licenses at certain locations.
