Senate Education

There are 40 Legislative Days scheduled for the 2003 session. Standing Legislative Committees meet in regularly scheduled sessions during the morning hours of each Legislative Day. Some committees will hold special evening meetings. The Senate Education Committee is scheduled to meet Tuesday and Thursday at 7:45am in room 423 of the Capitol.

SB 112 - authorize certain school district capital outlay fund transfers.

SB 170 -increase the per student allocation in the state aid to education formula.
SB 209- revise the index factor and the procedure for determining the per student allocation.
SB 220 - establish the Dakota Crops scholarship program, to provide for its funding, to make an appropriation therefor, and to declare an emergency.
SB 114 -revise the amount of state aid to education to certain school districts with declining enrollments.

HB 1068- permit home school students to participate in high school interscholastic activities.
HB 1084 - restrict the use of minor adjustments to school district boundaries.
HB 1077- repeal the limit on credit hours for certain students.
HB 1078 - increase the amount of money that school boards can keep in petty cash accounts.

HB 1042 - revise provisions pertaining to open enrollment.
SB 220 - establish the Dakota Crops scholarship program, to provide for its funding, to make an appropriation therefor, and to declare an emergency.
HB 1040 - define the consolidation of school districts.
HB 1041 - revise time spent in conducting teacher-parent conferences and in-service training during the school term.
