Senate Health & Human Services

There are 40 Legislative Days scheduled for the 2003 session. Standing Legislative Committees meet in regularly scheduled sessions during the morning hours of each Legislative Day. Some committees will hold special evening meetings. The Senate Health and Human Services Committee is scheduled to meet Monday and Wednesday at 10am in room 423 of the Capitol.

SB 26 - vital records provisions  and to authorize electronic filing of death certificates and permits for disposition.

SB 137- physician tuition reimbursement program  for dentists who fulfill certain requirements.
SB 138- expand the nurse tuition reimbursement program to include other health care professionals.
SB 105 - prohibit discriminatory pricing of drugs by manufacturers.
HB 1017 - revise certain provisions related to ambulance service personnel certification.
HB 1018 -revise certain provisions related to advanced life support personnel.
SB 78 - require notification of interested parties in the release of certain confidential information.

HB 1006- permit the Department of Social Services to publish certain fee schedules used in certain medical assistance programs.
SB 106 -permit smoking in certain public places and certain places of employment.
SB 172  - require the Department of Health to place certain information on its website.

SB 106- permit smoking in certain public places and certain places of employment.
HB 1149- provide for quality assurance programs for certain ambulance services.
HB 1106- revise the qualifications for qualified mental health professionals.
SB 192- prohibit smoking in public.

SB 223- ensure that covered persons of managed care plans receive certain health care services.
HB 1087- revise the definition of qualified mental health professionals and to clarify when reimbursement is required for the services of qualified mental health professionals.

SB 216- create a senior citizen prescription drug benefit program.
SB 192- prohibit smoking in public.
Legislative Day 28

HB 1226 - revise who may complete home studies for adoptions
HB 1234 - create a commission on health care

HB 1277- create a pharmaceutical prior authorization program for eligible individuals receiving medical assistance pursuant to chapter 28-6.

HB 1210- allow for a nursing facility to be constructed on an American Indian reservation under certain circumstances.
