Senate Local Government

There are 40 Legislative Days scheduled for the 2003 session. Standing Legislative Committees meet in regularly scheduled sessions during the morning hours of each Legislative Day. Some committees will hold special evening meetings. The Senate Local Government Committee is scheduled to meet Monday and Wednesday at 7:45am in room 423 of the Capitol.

SB 1 - eliminate nonprofit annual report provide for Department of Legislative Audit approval of single audits
SB 2 - revise the audit requirements for state agencies and  scope of certain audits performed by the Department of Legislative Audit.

SB 96 - repeal certain statutory conflicts regarding the ability of municipal officials to attend training sessions.
SB 97 - clarify a mayor's authority to solemnize marriages.
SB 123 - revise the definition of residence for election purposes.
SB 124 - clarify certain publication requirements.

SB 178- revise certain provisions related to the publication and distribution of municipal and school district minutes.
SB 75 - revise the requirements for irrigation district directors.
HB 1008 - revise certain provisions concerning campaign contributions and reports.
HB 1009- revise certain provisions concerning absentee voting.
HB 1010- permit voter registration on the internet.

SB 134 - permit county commissions to determine renewal fees for on-sale liquor licenses at certain locations.
SB 151- require that certain conditions be met before a building permit is issued.
SB 152 - require certain municipalities to license residential contractors.
SB 221 - revise certain provisions related to the formation of ambulance districts.
HB 1081- revise certain provisions relating to annual elections, conflicts of interest, and dissolution of road districts.
HB 1082 - modify the procedure for changing the number of county commissioners in a county.
SB 178 - revise certain provisions related to the publication and distribution of municipal and school district minutes.
SB 165 - establish the United States census estimates as the basis upon which liquor licenses may be issued.

HB 1076- revise provisions related to energy savings
HB 1080- revise the publication of advertisements for bids.
HB 1082- modify the procedure for changing the number of county commissioners in a county.
HB 1097- provide for local determination of fees for temporary malt beverage licenses.
HB 1100- make alcohol license fee provisions consistent.
HB 1105- clarify which establishments may provide or allow the consumption of alcoholic beverages on Sundays.

HB 1133- make certain municipal ordinance adoption procedures consistent.
HB 1156- provide a uniform method for establishing a fee to obtain copies of marriage records.

HB 1189 - permit municipalities to impose and collect sales and use tax at municipally owned airports
HB 1190 - limit the ability of certain municipalities to annex territory in the vicinity of certain airports

HB 1202- provide for the annexation of municipal airports and to regulate certain extraterritorial jurisdiction conflicts.
HB 1067- exempt golf courses from certain liquor license quota restrictions.
HB 1172- revise the factors considered in the certification of a county overweight vehicle enforcement program.
HB 1120- allow that counties be reimbursed for housing persons sent to county jail in lieu of the penitentiary
