Senate Commerce

There are 35 Legislative Days scheduled for the 2004 session. Standing Legislative Committees meet in regularly scheduled sessions during the morning hours of each Legislative Day. Some committees will hold special evening meetings. The Senate Commerce Committee is scheduled to meet Tuesday and Thursday at 10am in room 413 of the Capitol.

SB 4 -revise the reporting requirements for domestic nonprofit corporations.
SB 25 -revise certain provisions regarding the cancellation of automobile insurance policies.
SB 30 -revise certain pari-mutuel racing provisions relating to the definition of a racing jurisdiction.
SB 34 -repeal certain small group health insurance requirements.
SB 35 -revise certain requirements for insurance producers.
SB 38 -adopt the Uniform Securities Act, to repeal chapter 47-31A, and to revise certain related provisions.
SB 45 -revise the composition of the State Electrical Commission.

SB 36 -authorize the issuance of group life policies to additional types of groups.
SB 37 -provide for the filing and usage of certain property casualty rates and to exempt certain size risks from rate and form approval.

SB 135 -provide for reasonable compensation by manufacturers of outdoor power equipment for warranty work done  by a retailer that sells outdoor power equipment.
SB38 -adopt the Uniform Securities Act, to repeal chapter 47-31A, and to revise certain related provisions.
SB 78 -increase the bond requirements for certain vehicle dealers.
SB 81 -clarify the nature of certain tariffs and schedules filed by the public utilities and approved by the Public Utilities Commission.
SB 109 -revise certain provisions regarding the offering of supplemental health insurance.

SB 145: revise certain provisions regarding pensions allowed firefighters for impairment caused by cancer.
SB 138: prohibit certain discrimination in the field of health insurance.

SB 192 - require that health care providers who have contracted with health carriers to provide discounted rates provide the same rates to persons who have health savings accounts
SB 194 - exempt certain renter damage guarantee programs from insurance regulation
SB 208 - require certain insurers to offer high deductible health plans that meet the federal requirements for establishing health savings accounts
HB 1045 - revise the time period during which a boat license may be renewed.
HB 1046: revise certain provisions regarding the titling and
registering of a vehicle by a dealer on behalf of a customer

HB 1051: revise the requirements for utilization review and grievance procedures.
HB 1052: remove the reference to conversion from the requirements for continuation of group health coverage.

HB 1072 - revise certain provisions regarding the authority of the Public Utilities Commission to impose civil fines
HB 1095 - revise certain provisions regarding limited permits for occupational therapists
HB 1099 - establish a statute of limitations for real estate licensees and their licensed real estate firms for alleged malpractice, mistake, error, and omission
HB 1118 - authorize banks to enter into debt cancellation and debt suspension contracts and to exempt such contracts from insurance regulations
HB 1112 - revise the definition of a temporary supplemental lot for the purposes of regulating certain vehicle dealers
HB 1137 - permit the investment of public funds in certificates of deposit insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation
