Senate State Affairs

There are 35 Legislative Days scheduled for the 2004 session. Standing Legislative Committees meet in regularly scheduled sessions during the morning hours of each Legislative Day. Some committees will hold special evening meetings. The Senate State Affairs Committee is scheduled to meet Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7:45am in room 412 of the Capitol.

HB 1007: revise certain deadlines for special congressional elections and to declare an emergency.
HB 1009: establish an election equipment replacement fund.
HB 1015: permit the Board of Regents to create a multi-institution bonded revenue system. HB 1028: remove certain restrictions on the Bureau of Information and Telecommunications regarding state communications.
HB 1201: authorize the issuance of revenue bonds to finance certain water pipelines or aqueducts.
HB 1090: provide for the payment of the difference in salary for certain state employees who are called into active federal military service and to declare an emergency.
HB 1091: extend the fifty percent tuition privilege for National Guard members to include graduate study.

HB 1073: establish a consumer compensation and education fund related to telecommunication services and to provide for expenditures from the fund.

HB 1297: restrict the alienation of public state real property to the federal government.

HB 1312: authorize the discontinuance of the senior prescription drug program.
HJR 1003: Proposing and submitting to the electors at the next general election amendments to Article VIII of the Constitution of the State of South Dakota to authorize the provision of certain services to all children of school age.
