Senate Commerce

There are 40 Legislative Days scheduled for the 2005 session. Standing Legislative Committees meet in regularly scheduled sessions during the morning hours of each Legislative Day. Some committees will hold special evening meetings. The Senate Commerce Committee is scheduled to meet Tuesday and Thursday at 10am in room 413 of the Capitol.

SB 9: repeal provisions for integrated telecommunications.
SB 10: revise Rural Development Telecommunications Network to DDN.
SB 13: regarding unemployment insurance tax rates.
SB 14: modify provisions enemployment insurance benefits.
SB 18: PUC to disburse bond or other proceeds to affected customers.
SB 19: PUC act on interexchange telecommunications service.
SB 20: prohibit subscriber's telephone number in a wireless directory assistance service database without the subscriber's authorization.
SB 21: update regulations regarding the pipeline safety inspection.
SB 32: change certain references from Revenue and Regulation to Public Safety.

SB 29 provide the South Dakota risk pool with the ability to enter into certain provider contracts and to declare an emergency.
SB 30 revise certain provisions regarding creditable health insurance coverage.
SB 40 establish minimum fire safety standards for specialty resorts.
SB 46 modify the requirements for closed block individual health benefit plans.
SB 48 authorize the director of the Division of Banking to enter into certain interstate agreements and to establish certain procedures regarding those agreements.
SB 49 revise certain provisions regarding payments or assignments by insurance producers for referrals.

SB 50 remove certain references regarding conversion from the requirements for continuation of group health coverage.
SB 52 revise certain provisions regarding the payment of burial expenses by life insurers and fraternal benefit societies.

SB 85 modify certain provisions relating to the charging of employers for the payment of unemployment insurance benefits.

SB 82 permit a real estate broker to appoint agents within an office to represent separate parties to a real estate transaction.
SB 83 revise the seller's property condition disclosure statement.
