House Ag & Natural Resources

There are 35 Legislative Days scheduled for the 2006 session. Standing Legislative Committees meet in regularly scheduled sessions during the morning hours of each Legislative Day. Some committees will hold special evening meetings. The House Agriculture and Natural Resource Committee is scheduled to meet Tuesday and Thursday at 7:45am in room 468 of the Capitol.

HB 1006 - revise certain provisions related to out-of-state cattle brands and to establish a penalty.
HB 1007 - revise certain provisions related to the composition of livestock brands and to declare an emergency.
HB 1004 - establish certain record keeping requirements related to the selling of livestock that originated in the livestock inspection area and to establish a penalty.
HB 1005 - revise certain provisions related to cancelled livestock brands.

HB 1028 - revise certain provisions regarding the transportation, possession, purchase, and sale of certain endangered and threatened species of wildlife and to provide a penalty for violation of those provisions.
HB 1029 - prohibit the use of crossbows for fishing unless an exception is granted in rules promulgated by the Game, Fish and Parks Commission.
HB 1030 - permit persons in the armed services and certain family members to acquire a turkey license under certain circumstances.
HB 1032 - clarify that hunting, fishing, and trapping privileges associated with a resident license continue after change of residency.

HB 1083 - limit the authority of the Game, Fish and Parks Commission to promulgate rules restricting the application of permits to carry a concealed pistol.
HB 1085 - prohibit the feeding of certain big game animals and to provide a penalty therefor.
HB 1071 - amend the composition, supervision, and functioning of the State Seed Certification Board.
HB 1010 - make form and style revisions to certain agriculture statutes.

HB 1098 - exempt swine and cattle semen from sales and use taxes.

HB 1191 - authorize the issuance of lifetime hunting and fishing licenses.
HB 1031 - revise certain procedures and criteria permitting certain persons to acquire certain big game hunting licenses by means of landowner preference and to revise the areas permitted to be hunted under such licenses.

SB 189 - revise certain provisions concerning fire suppression agreements and payment of certain costs incurred in suppressing forest fires.

SB 62 - revise certain reclamation surety requirements regarding uranium exploration and to authorize the Board of Minerals and Environment to adopt rules for the construction, operation, monitoring, and closure of uranium and other in situ leach mines.
