There are 35 Legislative Days scheduled for the 2006 session. Standing Legislative Committees meet in regularly scheduled sessions during the morning hours of each Legislative Day. Some committees will hold special evening meetings. The House/Senate Appropriations Committee is scheduled to meet Monday through Friday at 7:45am in room LCR1 and LCR2 of the Capitol.

HOUSE APPROPRIATIONS 8th Legislative Day 01/20/2006 Complete Meeting HB 1011 - increase the funds that may be expended to construct a student wellness center at South Dakota State University. HB 1015 - authorize the Board of Regents to acquire an equestrian facility for South Dakota State University and to declare an emergency. HB 1012 - authorize the Board of Regents to construct an advanced materials processing and joining laboratory foundry addition to the Metallurgy Foundry Building at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, to make an appropriation therefor, and to declare an emergency. HB 1014 - authorize the Board of Regents to remodel certain locker room facilities and to renovate spectator, concession, press, and coaching facilities at the O'Harra Stadium at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and to make an appropriation therefor. HB 1022 - revise the disposition of funds received for charges for board and room for work release inmates. HB 1013 - make an appropriation to the Board of Regents for the construction, remodeling, or renovation of various structures or facilities on the campuses of the state's universities to provide additional support for women's athletic programs in furtherance of the policies and objectives of Title IX of the Education Act Amendments of 1972. 9th Legislative Day 01/23/2006 Complete Meeting SB 27 - make an appropriation to the state fair and to declare an emergency. 11th Legislative Day 01/25/2006 Complete Meeting 13th Legislative Day 01/27/2006 Complete Meeting HB 1040 - revise the minimum monthly fee charged for care at the Human Services Center. HB 1021 - make an appropriation for costs related to disasters in the state and to declare an emergency. HB 1087 - appropriate money for the Northern Crops Institute. HB 1013 - make an appropriation to the Board of Regents for the construction, remodeling, or renovation of various structures or facilities on the campuses of the state's universities to provide additional support for women's athletic programs in furtherance of the policies and objectives of Title IX of the Education Act Amendments of 1972. HB 1019 - revise and redirect certain revenues relating to the state capital construction fund, the ethanol fuel fund, the state highway fund, the water and environment fund, and the state general fund. 18th Legislative Day 02/03/2006 Complete Meeting HB 1038 - make an appropriation to reimburse certain family physicians and certain dentists who have complied with the requirements of the physician tuition reimbursement program and the dental tuition reimbursement program. HB 1055 - appropriate money for international trade representation and to declare an emergency. HB 1090 - appropriate money for compensatory payments to certain school districts and to revise provisions related to certain school district entitlements. HB 1237 - make an appropriation to fund tax refunds for elderly and disabled persons and to revise the income eligibility requirements for property tax and sales tax refunds. HB 1103 - appropriate money to postsecondary technical institutes for the maintenance and repair of buildings. HB 1142 - appropriate money to the state library for digital access to newspapers. HB 1239 - make appropriations from the water and environment fund, the environment and natural resources fee fund, the water pollution control revolving fund subfund, the drinking water revolving fund subfund for various water and environmental purposes, to revise the state water plan, and to declare an emergency. HB 1243 - make an appropriation to the Department of Education to reimburse certain school districts for consolidation incentives. HB 1124 - make an appropriation to the Department of Tourism and State Development to provide for the promotion in Mexico of tourist opportunities in South Dakota and of the products made in South Dakota. HB 1148 - appropriate money for heating costs at postsecondary technical institutes. HB 1238 - authorize the Board of Regents to purchase certain real property for the sole purpose of providing a site for the operation of instructional, research and service programs delivered through institutions established by the Legislature and governed by the Board of Regents, to make an appropriation therefor, to require the Board of Regents to submit a comprehensive plan and to make certain reports, and to declare an emergency. HB 1241 - reappropriate certain moneys to fund sales tax on food refunds. 20th Legislative Day 02/07/2006 Complete Meeting HB 1242 - transfer funds from the railroad trust fund to the property tax reduction fund. HB 1240 - make an appropriation for low income energy assistance, and to declare an emergency. SB 21 - authorize the Board of Regents to construct a manure separator for the South Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station and to make an appropriation therefor. SB 22 - authorize the Board of Regents to transfer title to a T-28 experimental aircraft from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology to the Strategic Air and Space Museum. SB 23 - authorize the Board of Regents to construct a livestock feed storage room as an addition to the livestock feed facility at the South Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station Southeast Research Farm and to make an appropriation therefor. 23rd Legislative Day 02/10/2006 Complete Meeting SB 151 - define the local government contribution for the construction of an armory. SB 152 - appropriate money for the design and construction of National Guard armories and to declare an emergency. SB 26 - make an appropriation for costs related to suppression of wildfires in the state and to declare an emergency. SB 204 - make an appropriation from the coordinated soil and water conservation fund to the State Conservation Commission. SB 205 - revise the General Appropriations Act for fiscal year 2006 regarding the South Dakota opportunity scholarships. 24th Legislative Day 02/13/2006 Complete Meeting SB 19 - revise the General Appropriations Act for fiscal year 2006 regarding appropriations to the Board of Regents and the Department of Corrections. SB 65 - appropriate money for roof repairs at Western Dakota Technical Institute and to declare an emergency. SB 100 - revise the distribution from certain constitutionally created trust funds, to revise certain provisions regarding state fund condition statements, and to declare an emergency. SB 154 - create a life protection litigation subfund within the extraordinary litigation fund and provide for its use and to declare an emergency.
