House Local Government 

There are 35 Legislative Days scheduled for the 2006 session. Standing Legislative Committees meet in regularly scheduled sessions during the morning hours of each Legislative Day. Some committees will hold special evening meetings. The House Local Government Committee is scheduled to meet Tuesday and Thursday at 10am in room 464 of the Capitol.

HB 1001 - revise certain provisions concerning election procedures.
HB 1002 - revise certain provisions concerning the type of documentation required for the registration of voters.
HB 1003 - revise certain provisions concerning absentee voting.

HB 1056 - permit municipalities to delegate to employees the authority to enter into certain contracts on behalf of the municipality.
HB 1068 - require the names of certain parties to be listed in instruments recorded by the register of deeds.
HB 1077 - authorize water user districts to establish and operate wastewater systems.
HB 1121 - revise notification requirements for certain planning and zoning changes.
HB 1133 - define the extraterritorial platting jurisdictional area of municipalities for the purpose of platting land.
12th Legislative Day

HB 1078 - revise certain provisions concerning the bonding of township clerks and treasurers.
HB 1097 - permit municipalities to refund certain sales and use taxes to contractors and subcontractors.
HB 1138 - authorize first class municipalities to issue nonsmoking establishment on-sale licenses under certain conditions.
HB 1196 - require certain new construction of structures to comply with the building code.
HB 1161 - provide additional methods for the formation of special zoning areas.
15th Legislative Day

HB 1170 - revise certain provisions concerning the voting requirements of the board of adjustment.
HB 1208 - require that certain persons convicted of drug and alcohol felonies be incarcerated in the county jail.
SB 3 - revise certain provisions concerning the establishment of representation areas for school board members and determination of vacancies on school boards.
HB 1233 - provide for the establishment and operation of artisan distillers and to revise certain provisions concerning farm wineries.
17th Legislative Day

SB 11 - provide for the use of electronic ballot marking systems and for the appointment of precinct assistants and to declare an emergency.
SB 12 - prescribe the form of certain ballots used in local elections.
SB 13 - revise certain provisions concerning the publication of facsimile ballots.
SB 77 - extend the time between a municipal candidate election and a secondary election.
SB 71 - revise the voting requirements for certain actions taken by the board of adjustment.
