House State Affairs 

There are 35 Legislative Days scheduled for the 2006 session. Standing Legislative Committees meet in regularly scheduled sessions during the morning hours of each Legislative Day. Some committees will hold special evening meetings. The House State Affairs Committee is scheduled to meet Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 10am in room 412 of the Capitol.

HB 1001 - revise certain provisions concerning election procedures.
HB 1002 - revise certain provisions concerning the type of documentation required for the registration of voters.
HB 1003 - revise certain provisions concerning absentee voting.
HB 1018 - delay the change in calculating the amount eligible for distribution from the Health Care Trust Fund and the Education Enhancement Trust Fund and to declare an emergency.
HB 1019 - revise and redirect certain revenues relating to the state capital construction fund, the ethanol fuel fund, the state highway fund, the water and environment fund, and the state general fund.

HB 1016 - provide for the creation of a renewable electricity and recycled energy renewable energy credit system by the Public Utilities Commission.
HB 1053 - codify legislation enacted in 2005.

HB 1127 - authorize the Gaming Commission to fund gambling addiction treatment programs.
HB 1054 - revise certain provisions regarding an increase of the prizes that certain lotteries may award.

HB 1091 - authorize the Public Utilities Commission to approve tariff mechanisms for the automatic annual adjustment of charges for jurisdictional costs of new or modified transmission facilities.

HB 1113 - exempt claims related to wildland fire operations outside the state from certain workers' compensation provisions and to declare an emergency.
HB 1093 - establish certain criteria regarding the construction and sale of homes by a state agency or the South Dakota Housing Development Authority.
HB 1140 - revise certain provisions regarding the continuing eligibility requirements for opportunity scholarship recipients.
HB 1102 - expand the board of technical professions.

HB 1195 - reduce state government reliance on video lottery proceeds and to revise the distribution of video lottery proceeds.
HB 1169 - limit certain campaign contributions.
HB 1157 - extend opportunity scholarship eligibility to South Dakota students who attend college or technical school out-of-state and then return to South Dakota to attend school.
HB 1199 - prohibit the release of information concerning the applicants and holders of permits to carry a concealed pistol.
HB 1173 - limit the authority of the state agencies to promulgate rules restricting the application of permits to carry a concealed pistol.
