House Transportation

There are 35 Legislative Days scheduled for the 2006 session. Standing Legislative Committees meet in regularly scheduled sessions during the morning hours of each Legislative Day. Some committees will hold special evening meetings. The House Transportation Committee is scheduled to meet Monday and Wednesday at 10am in room 464 of the Capitol.

HB 1050 - revise certain provisions regarding the taxation of motor fuel and the refunding of motor fuel taxes.
HB 1049 - revise the effective dates of certain laws regarding the regulation of motor vehicle license plates.
HB 1052 - update the reference to certain federal regulations regarding financial assistance to persons displaced by highway acquisition.

HB 1139 - define the use of vehicles bearing dealer's demonstration or in-transit permits and to revise the penalty for the misuse of such permits.
HB 1130 - revise the definition of a temporary supplemental lot for use by vehicle dealers.
HB 1057 - require certain children to be in booster seats when in motor vehicles.
HB 1084 - authorize counties to regulate the operation of certain off-road vehicles in highway ditches.
HB 1107 - clarify the definition of a salvage vehicle.

HB 1190 - specifically exclude ridden animals and bicycles from violations of the DUI statutes.
HB 1057 - require certain children to be in booster seats when in motor vehicles.
HB 1130 - revise the definition of a temporary supplemental lot for use by vehicle dealers.

HB 1122 - permit road districts to receive a portion of the county wheel tax revenue.
HB 1114 - exempt from motor vehicle license fees certain motor vehicles used to transport children to and from certain head start programs.
HB 1228 - adjust the period of time requiring the use of lighted front and real lamps on motor vehicles.

HB 1164 - revise the taxation of leased motorcycles and motorized bicycles.
SB 41 - revise and update certain provisions pertaining to motor carrier safety and transportation of hazardous materials.
SB 43 - update certain provisions for the storage of explosive materials.
SB 25 - revise certain provisions concerning motor carrier regulation and to transfer the authority to regulate motor carriers from the Public Utilities Commission to the Department of Revenue and Regulation.
SB 55 - modify the process for state highway road closures due to inclement weather.

SB 56 - authorize the railroad authority to acquire certain railroad facilities and to declare an emergency.
SB 54 - revise the state trunk highway system.
SB 42 - update and revise certain provisions pertaining to saddlemount motor vehicle combinations.
SB 182 - revise certain provisions regarding the organization decals that may be displayed on a motor vehicle license plate.

SB 183 - provide for distinctive motor vehicle license plates for certain military veterans.
