Senate Appropriations

There are 35 Legislative Days scheduled for the 2006 session. Standing Legislative Committees meet in regularly scheduled sessions during the morning hours of each Legislative Day. Some committees will hold special evening meetings. The House/Senate Appropriations Committee is scheduled to meet Monday through Friday at 8:00am in room LCR1 and LCR2 of the Capitol.

SB 22 - authorize the Board of Regents to transfer title to a T-28 experimental aircraft from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology to the Strategic Air and Space Museum.

SB 171 - appropriate money for energy development.
SB 88 - extend residency status to graduates of any in-state, accredited high school operated by the United States Bureau of Indian Affairs.
SB 100 - revise the distribution from certain constitutionally created trust funds, to revise certain provisions regarding state fund condition statements, and to declare an emergency.
SB 137 - increase the distribution from the education enhancement trust fund.
SB 160 - appropriate money for heating costs at postsecondary technical institutes.
SB 158 - appropriate money to the Department of Public Safety for the coordination of 911 services.
SB 21 - authorize the Board of Regents to construct a manure separator for the South Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station and to make an appropriation therefor.
SB 70 - appropriate money to the Dakota Valley school district.
SB 20 - authorize the Board of Regents to construct a new dairy manufacturing plant at South Dakota State University and to make an appropriation therefor.
SB 23 - authorize the Board of Regents to construct a livestock feed storage room as an addition to the livestock feed facility at the South Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station Southeast Research Farm and to make an appropriation therefor.
SB 153 - transfer certain moneys from the railroad trust fund to the property tax reduction fund and to declare an emergency.
SB 2 - appropriate money for the creation of a circuit court judgeship in the second judicial circuit.
SB 154 - create a life protection litigation subfund within the extraordinary litigation fund and provide for its use and to declare an emergency.
SB 86 - require the Department of Game, Fish and Parks to receive the approval of the Legislature before acquiring certain land.
SB 30 - revise the use of certain funds in the Department of Education.

SB 142 - direct the Office of the Attorney General to study open government issues in South Dakota.
