Senate Commerce

There are 35 Legislative Days scheduled for the 2006 session. Standing Legislative Committees meet in regularly scheduled sessions during the morning hours of each Legislative Day. Some committees will hold special evening meetings. The Senate Commerce Committee is scheduled to meet Tuesday and Thursday at 10am in room 413 of the Capitol.

SB 31 - revise certain provisions relating to the licensing and regulation of technical professions.
SB 37 - revise certain provisions regarding fire safety and regarding the authority of the Department of Public Safety to promulgate rules pertaining to fire safety.
SB 38 - increase the annual operation certificate fee for certain boilers.
SB 44 - repeal certain provisions regarding waiting periods for the filing of insurance rates.
SB 35 - rename the Board of Counselor Examiners and to revise certain provisions relating to the rule-making authority of the board.

SB 40 - revise certain provisions regarding the regulation of weighing and measuring devices and the regulation of service agencies of weighing and measuring devices.

SB 47 - allow health maintenance organizations to rate employer sponsored plans without prior approval.
SB 48 - clarify certain statutory references regarding the sale of alcoholic beverages.
SB 49 - modify the requirements for health discount plans.
SB 31 - revise certain provisions relating to the licensing and regulation of technical professions.

SB 98 - limit the transfer or renewal of certain alcohol beverage licenses.
SB 76 - allow an applicant for a responsible broker's license to complete certain required education requirements after licensure as a responsible broker.
SB 87 - require a broker to obtain written consent to advertise or market property on behalf of an owner.
SB 74 - repeal the Game, Fish and Parks Commission exemption relating to small business impact statements.
SB 75 - rescind the repeal of certain provisions relating to small business impact statements.
SB 18 - revise certain provisions regarding the licensing of home inspectors.

SB 89 - require the Division of Insurance to study the offering of assisted living facility benefits to certain persons with long-term care insurance.

SB 155 - permit salespersons and broker associates within the same firm to form a business corporation or limited liability company under certain conditions.

HB 1070 - prohibit insurers from taking certain actions based on receipt of a notice of hearing and charges against insurance producers and to require that persons receiving such notice also receive notice of the final determination of the matter.

HB 1111 - require certain third party administrators to provide reports of claims experience upon request.
HB 1113 - exempt claims related to wildland fire operations outside the state from certain workers' compensation provisions and to declare an emergency.
HB 1137 - revise certain provisions relating to the practice of counseling.
HB 1102 - expand the board of technical professions.
