Senate Judiciary

There are 35 Legislative Days scheduled for the 2006 session. Standing Legislative Committees meet in regularly scheduled sessions during the morning hours of each Legislative Day. Some committees will hold special evening meetings. The Senate Judiciary Committee is scheduled to meet Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 10am in room 413 of the Capitol.

SB 1 - provide for the mandatory withdrawal of blood or other bodily substances subsequent to arrest for driving while under influence.
SB 15 - revise certain provisions concerning trademark registration.
SB 28 - revise and correct certain provisions related to the criminal code revision of 2005.
SB 50 - make certain persons responsible for making tax returns and payment of tax debts.
SB 57 - revise the definition of deceptive acts and practices and to increase the statute of limitations regarding deceptive trade practices.
SB 58 - define gamma hydroxyl butyrate as a controlled substance.
SB 59 - provide for the use of chemist's affidavits in certain parole, probation, and contested case proceedings.
SB 60 - revise certain provisions concerning the licensure of polygraph examiners.

SB 63 - include officers of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Office of Investigations in the definition of federal law enforcement officer.
SB 68 - revise certain provisions regarding the administration of trusts and estates.
SB 69 - revise certain provisions relating to insurable interests and to declare an emergency.

SB 132 - clarify the jurisdiction of conservation officers to enforce certain alcohol-related provisions.
SB 112 - provide for an order of joint physical care over certain children whose parents exercise joint legal custody.
HB 1051 - revise certain provisions regarding notice to a tribe of a child custody proceeding subject to the Indian Child Welfare Act.
SB 119 - revise certain provisions concerning the use of the emergency rule adoption procedure.

SB 148 - revise certain provisions regarding the sex offender registry and the supervision of sex offenders.
SB 149 - create community safety zones, to prohibit certain persons from residing or loitering in community safety zones, and to provide penalties for violations thereof.
SB 150 - require the state's participation in the National Sex Offender Public Registry and to provide for the posting of a state internet sex registry site.
SB 99 - establish a task force to study sexual assault and to provide for its composition, scope, and administration.
HB 1033 - permit persons arrested for certain boating violations to be released upon execution of a promise to appear in court or upon furnishing a bond and to provide a penalty for failure to appear in court.

SB 140 - establish minimum sentencing and electronic monitoring requirements for certain sex offenders.
SB 141 - revise certain requirements related to the registration and monitoring of sex offenders.
SB 156 - prohibit the picketing of funerals under certain circumstances, to provide penalties for the violation thereof, and to declare an emergency.
SB 159 - prohibit certain civil penalties on dishonored checks and to revise the duties of the state's attorneys with respect thereto.
SB 180 - require consumer reporting agencies to provide security freezes for consumers who are victims of identity theft.
HB 1064 - increase the penalty for subsequent convictions for the crime of stalking.
HB 1065 - extend immunity to certain directors, trustees, committee members and officers of certain nonprofit corporations and to members of certain advisory boards.

SB 207 - revise certain provisions pertaining to the sale, purchasing, and possession of products containing pseudoephedrine or ephedrine.
SB 208 - establish and enhance criminal penalties regarding certain sex offenders.
HB 1063 - clarify certain provisions concerning the authority of certain courts to issue warrants or summonses on indictment.
HB 1074 - provide for recognition of certain stalking or physical violence protection orders as foreign domestic violence orders.
HB 1094 - clarify a custodian's access to certain sealed records.
HB 1095 - clarify the elements of the crime of impersonating another.

HB 1119 - repeal certain mandatory minimum sentences for driving under the influence, to expand those substances under which a person may be found to be under the influence, and to revise certain driving under the influence provisions for clarity and consistency.
HB 1219 - revise the advice that a law enforcement officer must give any person arrested for driving under influence.
