House Taxation

There are 35 Legislative Days scheduled for the 2008 session. Standing Legislative Committees meet in regularly scheduled sessions during the morning hours of each Legislative Day. Some committees will hold special evening meetings. The House Taxation Committee is scheduled to meet Tuesday and Thursday at 7:45am in room 412 of the Capitol.

HB 1043 - revise certain dates pertaining to references to the Internal Revenue Code.
HB 1049 - clarify the definition of purchase price for taxation purposes.
HB 1055 - revise the time period for sellers to obtain an exemption certificate for certain taxes.
HB 1042 - revise the definition of bundling for sales and use tax purposes.
HB 1044 - provide reciprocity for sales, use, or gross receipts tax paid on farm equipment purchased in another state or political subdivision.
HB 1045 - revise certain provisions regarding the times for filing returns and remitting taxes.
HB 1046 - repeal the limitation period for filing certain tax refunds.
HB 1047 - revise the taxation of bundled transactions involving telecommunications services and related services.
HB 1080 - revise the definition of gross receipts for sales tax purposes.

HB 1131 - increase the amount of funding for conservation and value-added agriculture purposes from certain unclaimed motor fuel tax refunds.
HB 1181 - impose a sales and use tax on certain advertising services for the purpose of funding an energy assistance program for certain nursing homes, community service organizations, juvenile corrections placement agencies, and adjustment training centers.

HB 1184 - require the Department of Revenue and Regulation to collect and distribute the gross receipts taxes imposed on small telecommunication companies.
HB 1151 - exempt the sale of coins, currency, and bullion from sales and use taxes.
HB 1187 - provide for the abatement or refund of property taxes on certain owner-occupied single-family dwellings owned by persons in the military and to declare an emergency.
HB 1211 - revise the deadline for owner-occupants to file the certificate requesting an owner-occupied classification.

HB 1308 - revise certain provisions concerning the valuation of real property by allowing the director of equalization to use more sales during the assessment process and to revise certain provisions regarding taxes payable for special education and the capital outlay fund of school districts.
