House Transportation

There are 35 Legislative Days scheduled for the 2008 session. Standing Legislative Committees meet in regularly scheduled sessions during the morning hours of each Legislative Day. Some committees will hold special evening meetings. The House Transportation Committee is scheduled to meet Tuesday and Thursday at 7:45 am in room 464 of the Capitol.

HB 1027 - authorize the issuance of temporary snowmobile permits to residents and to increase the fee for such permits.
HB 1050 - revise the requirement to pay motor vehicle excise taxes.
HB 1081 - revise certain provisions to provide that motor vehicle license plates remain with the owner of the plates.

HB 1103 - revise certain requirements of vehicle and boat dealers to post damage disclosure statement notices.
SB 12 - revise certain provisions required to obtain an instruction permit to drive.

HB 1134 - require certain children to be in booster seats when in motor vehicles.
SB 11 - revise certain provisions related to the licensing of commercial drivers.
SB 13 - update certain provisions pertaining to motor carrier safety and transportation of hazardous materials.

HB 1204 - revise fees for renewal stickers that are placed on special motor vehicle license plates for certain military veterans.
HB 1163 - allow certain repossessed motor vehicles to be sold without title in the name of the entity selling these motor vehicles.
HB 1164 - allow auction agencies to sell government consigned motor vehicles on the same day as the dealer motor vehicle auctions.
HB 1135 - adopt the Multistate Highway Transportation Agreement and to provide for its funding.
17th Legislative Day
02/01/2007 Complete Meeting
HB 1174 - increase the maximum amount for which used motor vehicles may be sold or transferred to be exempt from excise tax.
HB 1183 - revise certain provisions regarding the use of a transporter license plate.
HB 1197 - allow the Department of Public Safety to regulate installers of manufactured homes and to allow the department to establish an installation inspection program.
HB 1234 - adjust the period of time requiring the use of lighted front and real lamps on motor vehicles.
HCR 1003 - To request the Department of Transportation to help promote and help direct travelers to the Oyate Trail.
SB 72 - revise certain provisions regarding the liens on vehicles for the costs of removal and storage of the vehicles.
HB 1135 - adopt the Multistate Highway Transportation Agreement and to provide for its funding.
20th Legislative Day
02/06/2007 Complete Meeting
HB 1297 - establish a pilot program to gather certain statistics regarding traffic law enforcement to be collected and maintained.
SB 94 - require a motor vehicle manufacturer to reimburse a consumer for excise tax and license and registration fees if a vehicle is replaced under lemon law provisions.
HB 1135 - adopt the Multistate Highway Transportation Agreement and to provide for its funding.
25th Legislative Day
02/13/2007 Complete Meeting
HB 1197 - allow the Department of Public Safety to regulate installers of manufactured homes and to allow the department to establish an installation inspection program.
HB 1189 - require certain children to be in booster seats when in motor vehicles.
SB 125 - allow an abandoned mobile home or manufactured home to be moved under certain conditions and to require property taxes to be abated on certain abandoned mobile homes and manufactured homes.
SB 109 - exempt from motor vehicle license fees certain motor vehicles used to transport children to and from certain head start programs.
