SENATE HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES 4th Legislative Day 01/12/2007 Complete Meeting SB 16 - prohibit advertising chiropractic services without first obtaining a license. SB 17 - require each applicant for licensure as a chiropractor in South Dakota or a licensee who is the subject of a disciplinary investigation to submit to a state and federal criminal background check. SB 18 - revise the chiropractic scope of practice. SB 170 - provide for a study of medicaid. SB 148 - require proof of citizenship with regard to certain applications for aid or assistance. SB 162 - establish an alcohol and drug addiction counselor loan forgiveness program and to make an appropriation therefor. SB 140 - preclude mitigated, corrected, uncorrected effects, or reduction in benefits when determining an award for benefits which may be subjected to the provisions governing temporary, partial, permanent partial or permanent total disability benefits. 16th Legislative Day 01/31/2007 Complete Meeting HB 1028 - revise certain provisions regarding the regulation of physician assistants. SB 119 - establish a pilot project for an alternative care program for adults with substance abuse issues, to provide for a report to the Legislature, and to make an appropriation therefor. 18th Legislative Day 02/02/2007 Complete Meeting SB 180 - provide for the recognition of certain adoption orders from foreign jurisdictions and to provide for the issuance of birth certificates for certain inter-country adoptions. SB 193 - prohibit the abuse of certain elderly persons and to revise certain provisions regarding the abuse of disabled adults. 19th Legislative Day 02/05/2007 Complete Meeting SB 211 - prohibit the interchange of anti-epileptic drugs without prior notification and consent. SB 208 - place certain restrictions on the use of tanning devices by minors. SB 180 - provide for the recognition of certain adoption orders from foreign jurisdictions and to provide for the issuance of birth certificates for certain inter-country adoptions. SB 209 - create the South Dakota Boxing Commission and to provide for the supervision of boxing, kickboxing, mixed martial arts, wrestling, and sparring exhibitions in the state. 21st Legislative Day 02/07/2007 Complete Meeting HB 1105 - revise certain provisions related to immunity from civil liability for the placement and use of automated external defibrillators. SB 180 - provide for the recognition of certain adoption orders from foreign jurisdictions and to provide for the issuance of birth certificates for certain inter-country adoptions. SCR 2 - Encouraging all school districts in South Dakota to adopt the Standards for Food and Beverages as outlined in the South Dakota Department of Education Model Wellness Policy. SCR 4 - Requesting all qualifying school districts in South Dakota to use the South Dakota Department of Education developed, and South Dakota Board of Education approved, Model Wellness Policy as a guideline. SB 208 - place certain restrictions on the use of tanning devices by minors. 23rd Legislative Day 02/09/2007 Complete Meeting SB 187 - provide for appropriate emergency health care for rape survivors and to require health care facilities and the Department of Health to provide information to rape survivors. SB 197 - adopt the Revised Uniform Anatomical Gift Act. 24th Legislative Day 02/12/2007 Complete Meeting SB 196 - revise the places where smoking is prohibited. SB 206 - permit and provide for the issuance of certificates of birth resulting in stillbirth.
