House Ag & Natural Resources

There are 35 Legislative Days scheduled for the 2008 session. Standing Legislative Committees meet in regularly scheduled sessions during the morning hours of each Legislative Day. Some committees will hold special evening meetings. The House Agriculture and Natural Resource Committee is scheduled to meet Tuesday and Thursday at 7:45am in room 468 of the Capitol.  Check the committee agenda

HB 1042 - revise certain provisions pertaining to the definition of residency and the issuance of resident hunting, fishing, and trapping licenses.
HB 1043 - revise certain provisions regarding exemptions to the boat numbering requirement.

HB 1069 - make an appropriation to the coordinated natural resources conservation fund and to declare an emergency.
HB 1070 - make an appropriation from the coordinated natural resources conservation fund to the State Conservation Commission.
HB 1071 - revise certain provisions regarding the permissible costs payable from the fire suppression special revenue fund.

HB 1056 - revise certain provisions related to holds on livestock sales and the transporting of livestock out of the ownership inspection area.
HB 1057 - revise certain provisions regarding eligibility for open market status for the purposes of brand inspection.
HB 1058 - increase the maximum amount allowable for the livestock ownership inspection fee.
HB 1176 - require statewide livestock ownership inspection.

HB 1079 - revise the tax credit for certain renewable resource energy systems.
HB 1148 - exempt the land application of certain solid waste used for irrigation purposes from requirements related to large-scale solid waste facilities.

HB 1208 - reimburse certain motorists involved in vehicle collisions with wildlife.
HB 1171 - authorize the hunting of mountain lions as predator/varmints in certain areas of the state.
HB 1140 - provide for the issuance without charge of certain big game licenses to resident active duty military personnel.
HB 1293 - provide for the removal of dead deer from certain highways.

HB 1305 - revise provisions related to a state animal identification program and to prohibit participation by the State of South Dakota in a national animal identification system.
HB 1263 - establish a hunter mentoring program, to authorize hunting under certain conditions by persons less than sixteen years of age, and to authorize the Game, Fish and Parks Commission to promulgate rules.

SB 111 - extend the prohibition of road hunting of big game to include hunting using certain additional weapons.
SB 42 - repeal certain provisions regarding the regulation of public warehouses by the Public Utilities Commission.
SB 44 - revise certain provisions regarding the licensing and regulation of grain dealers and buyers.
SB 45 - revise the requirements regarding the licensing and regulation of public grain warehouses, to establish a grain warehouse fund, and to make a continuous appropriation from that fund.

SB 6 - revise certain provisions to allow the transfer of ownership of an application to appropriate water.
SCR 8 - Opposing efforts in Congress to expand the jurisdiction of the federal Clean Water Act by revising the terms "navigable waters" and "waters of the United States".
SCR 7 - Petitioning the United States Congress to repeal the REAL ID Act.
SB 173 - exempt certain dairies from the restrictions of the Family Farm Act.
SB 162 - revise certain provisions related to the confidentiality of certain geological reports.

SB 196 - repeal a limitation on certain environmental rules.
SB 152 - increase the biennial pesticide registration fee and to revise its allocation for the weed and pest fund.
SB 134 - increase the pesticide registration fee, to revise its allocation, to revise certain related provisions, and to declare an emergency.
