House Health & Human Services

There are 35 Legislative Days scheduled for the 2008 session. Standing Legislative Committees meet in regularly scheduled sessions during the morning hours of each Legislative Day. Some committees will hold special evening meetings. The House Health and Human Services Committee is scheduled to meet Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7:45am in room 468 of the Capitol.  Check the committee agenda

HB 1052 - define an inpatient hospice and residential hospice as a health care facility.

SB 38 - revise certain provisions relating to the consideration of assets for the purpose of long-term care eligibility.
HB 1128 - provide for the regulation of tanning devices.
SB 50 - change the name of the Board of Counselor Examiners.

HB 1155 - provide for the practice and regulation of licensed midwives.
HB 1259 - make an appropriation for the detection and prevention of Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome.

HB 1197 - revise certain provisions regarding the requirement of passenger restraint in a passenger vehicle.

SB 51 - revise certain terminology, licensing requirements, and procedures regarding the Board of Examiners of Psychologists.

SB 31 - provide for certification of chiropractic assistants.
SB 88 - require abortion facilities to offer sonograms to pregnant women under certain circumstances.
27th Legislative Day

SB 132 - clarify provisions regarding the continuation of coverage after an employer ceases business operations.
SB 112 - revise eligibility requirements for continuation of health care coverage.
29th Legislative Day
02/22/2008 Complete Meeting
SB 129 - revise the grounds for which continuation or conversion is not required for group health policies.
SB 182 - expand the disclosure of inpatient hospital charges and to provide for the development of a system for the disclosure of charges for outpatient procedures.
