There are 35 Legislative Days scheduled for the 2008 session. Standing Legislative Committees meet in regularly scheduled sessions during the morning hours of each Legislative Day. Some committees will hold special evening meetings. HB 1078 - transfer in the code a section requiring certification for chemical dependency counselors and prevention specialists. 12th Legislative Day 01/25/2008 Complete Meeting SB 34 - allow certified nurse midwives to attend out-of-hospital births under certain circumstances. HB 1052 - define an inpatient hospice and residential hospice as a health care facility. HB 1053 - place certain substances on the controlled substances schedule and to declare an emergency. 15th Legislative Day 01/30/2008 Complete Meeting SB 38 - revise certain provisions relating to the consideration of assets for the purpose of long-term care eligibility. HB 1128 - provide for the regulation of tanning devices. SB 50 - change the name of the Board of Counselor Examiners. 17th Legislative Day 02/04/2008 Complete Meeting HB 1155 - provide for the practice and regulation of licensed midwives. HB 1259 - make an appropriation for the detection and prevention of Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome. 19th Legislative Day 02/06/2008 Complete Meeting HB 1311 - prevent seizures by prohibiting the interchange of anti-epileptic drugs without prior notification and consent. 21st Legislative Day 02/11/2008 Complete Meeting HB 1311 - prevent seizures by prohibiting the interchange of anti-epileptic drugs without prior notification and consent. HB 1197 - revise certain provisions regarding the requirement of passenger restraint in a passenger vehicle. HB 1165 - prohibit certain immunizations from containing more than trace amounts of mercury. 23rd Legislative Day 02/13/2008 Complete Meeting SB 200 - establish a statewide trauma system. SB 51 - revise certain terminology, licensing requirements, and procedures regarding the Board of Examiners of Psychologists. 25th Legislative Day 02/15/2008 Complete Meeting SB 31 - provide for certification of chiropractic assistants. SB 88 - require abortion facilities to offer sonograms to pregnant women under certain circumstances. 27th Legislative Day 02/20/2008 Complete Meeting SB 132 - clarify provisions regarding the continuation of coverage after an employer ceases business operations. SB 112 - revise eligibility requirements for continuation of health care coverage. 29th Legislative Day 02/22/2008 Complete Meeting SB 129 - revise the grounds for which continuation or conversion is not required for group health policies. SB 182 - expand the disclosure of inpatient hospital charges and to provide for the development of a system for the disclosure of charges for outpatient procedures.
