House Taxation

There are 35 Legislative Days scheduled for the 2008 session. Standing Legislative Committees meet in regularly scheduled sessions during the morning hours of each Legislative Day. Some committees will hold special evening meetings. The House Taxation Committee is scheduled to meet Tuesday and Thursday at 7:45am in room 412 of the Capitol.

01/15/2008 Complete Meeting
HB 1011 - revise certain provisions regarding the bank franchise tax.
HB 1012 - revise certain provisions regarding property tax exemptions for certain disabled veterans and to declare an emergency.
8th Legislative Day
01/17/2008 Complete Meeting
HB 1117 - exempt veterans disability payments from income calculations for certain tax relief programs.
HB 1167 - exempt the services provided by certified birth doulas and certified postpartum doulas from sales and use taxes.
9th Legislative Day
01/22/2008 Complete Meeting
HB 1169 - clarify certain provisions regarding the contractor's excise tax for isolated or occasional realty improvements.
HB 1182 - revise certain provisions related to property tax assessments for elderly and disabled persons.
HB 1010 - define telecommunication services for taxation purposes.
HB 1181 - revise certain provisions concerning information related to the assessment of property that is to be provided by the director of equalization.
11th Legislative Day
01/24/2008 Complete Meeting
HB 1215 - revise the criteria required for land to be classified as agricultural land.
HB 1185 - establish dedicated funding sources and to deposit the revenue in the coordinated natural resources conservation fund.
HB 1017 - revise certain provisions related to the taxation of products transferred electronically.
HB 1243 - impose sales and use taxes on certain advertising services and products and to dedicate the increased tax revenue to the food tax relief fund for the purpose of reducing sales and use taxes on food.
14th Legislative Day
01/29/2008 Complete Meeting
HB 1257 - revise certain procedures regarding real property assessment and taxation and to repeal the nonagricultural acreage classification and certain provisions regarding the assessment of property.
HB 1296 - authorize community renewable energy development projects and to provide for certain tax benefits for such projects.
HB 1287 - permit taxing districts to revise the base amount of revenue payable from property taxes.
HB 1273 - exempt agricultural land from the general fund and special education fund levies imposed by school districts.
HB 1307 - provide for a legislative study of the classifications of real property.
20th Legislative Day
02/07/2008 Complete Meeting
HB 1307 - provide for a legislative study of the classifications of real property.
26th Legislative Day
02/19/2008 Complete Meeting
SB 140 - revise the application requirements for property tax exemptions provided for dwellings owned and occupied by disabled veterans.
SB 14 - extend the time allowed to request a hearing or pay an audit assessment.
SB 18 - revise certain dates pertaining to references to the Internal Revenue Code.
28th Legislative Day
02/21/2008 Complete Meeting
SB 115 - increase the amount of funding for conservation and value-added agriculture purposes from certain unclaimed motor fuel tax refunds.
