Senate Taxation  

There are 35 Legislative Days scheduled for the 2008 session. Standing Legislative Committees meet in regularly scheduled sessions during the morning hours of each Legislative Day. Some committees will hold special evening meetings. The Senate Taxation Committee is scheduled to meet Wednesday and Friday at 7:45am in room 413 of the Capitol.

01/11/2008 Complete Meeting
SB 8 - revise certain procedures used to assess and collect unpaid cigarette taxes.
SB 18 - revise certain dates pertaining to references to the Internal Revenue Code.
SB 14 - extend the time allowed to request a hearing or pay an audit assessment.

SB 66 - provide for the awarding of matching grants to certain fire departments and to increase the fire insurance premium tax.

SB 110 - provide increased funding for the maintenance of state highways and roads by eliminating the tax differential between ethanol blends and motor fuel through an increase in the fuel excise tax rate on ethanol blends.
SB 140 - revise the application requirements for property tax exemptions provided for dwellings owned and occupied by disabled veterans.
SB 127 - provide for a sales tax holiday on certain tangible personal property for going back to school.

SB 159 - allow the discretionary formula for reduced property taxation to be applied to research facilities.
SB 191 - revise certain provisions concerning a sales tax exemption provided for religious, benevolent, fraternal, youth association, or charitable activities.
SB 66 - provide for the awarding of matching grants to certain fire departments and to increase the fire insurance premium tax.
13th Legislative Day

HB 1007 - make form and style revisions to certain taxation and revenue statutes.
HB 1011 - revise certain provisions regarding the bank franchise tax.
SB 198 - exempt from sales taxation the gross receipts received by nonprofit organizations from a shooting range or trap shooting facility.
SB 92 - revise certain provisions concerning the classification and taxation of real property.

HB 1182 - revise certain provisions related to property tax assessments for elderly and disabled persons.
HB 1010 - define telecommunication services for taxation purposes.
SB 130 - provide for a property tax levy to fund the health insurance benefits of school district employees and to create a school district health insurance fund.
HB 1012 - revise certain provisions regarding property tax exemptions for certain disabled veterans and to declare an emergency.

SB 116 - revise certain provisions concerning the assessment of real property and to revise the makeup of the implementation and oversight advisory task force.
SB 117 - revise certain tax levy limitations and property tax levies for school districts.
HB 1005 - revise certain provisions concerning the assessment of real property, to assess agricultural land based on its agricultural income value, to create an implementation and oversight advisory task force, to repeal certain provisions regarding the assessment of property, and to repeal the nonagricultural acreage classification.
SB 110 - provide increased funding for the maintenance of state highways and roads by eliminating the tax differential between ethanol blends and motor fuel through an increase in the fuel excise tax rate on ethanol blends.
HB 1006 - revise certain tax levy limitations and property tax levies for school districts.

HB 1181 - revise certain provisions concerning information related to the assessment of property that is to be provided by the director of equalization.
SB 115 - increase the amount of funding for conservation and value-added agriculture purposes from certain unclaimed motor fuel tax refunds.
