Senate Ag & Natural Resources

There are 40 Legislative Days scheduled for the 2009 session. Standing Legislative Committees meet in regularly scheduled sessions during the morning hours of each Legislative Day. Some committees will hold special evening meetings. The Senate Agriculture and Natural Resource Committee is scheduled to meet Tuesday and Thursday at 10am in room 412 of the Capitol.

SB 53 - modify the type of financial documents required for a grain buyer's license and to declare an emergency.
SB 56 - change certain references regarding a grain dealer to a grain buyer.
SB 55 - revise the requirements regarding the licensing and regulation of grain buyers.
SB 54 - revise how certain rates are determined for grain warehouse operators.
10th Legislative Day
01/27/2009 Complete Meeting
SB 1 - clarify, repeal, update, and make form and style revisions to certain statutes related to the Department of Game, Fish and Parks.
SB 2 - revise the available number and method of allocation of certain nonresident waterfowl hunting licenses.
SB 51 - provide for a drug screening program for certain applicants and employees of the Wildland Fire Suppression Division.
SB 69 - revise the requirement for a fire equipment shop.
12th Legislative Day

SB 75 - allow dogs to be used in the hunting of mountain lions.
15th Legislative Day

SB 40 - revise the financial assurance requirements for responding to accidental releases of chemical or biological ore leaching agents from certain permitted mines.
SB 136 - repeal the provision that requires cooperatives to set aside a portion of the net proceeds as an education fund.
SB 105 - require the State Brand Board to provide certain reports and information and to provide for Senate confirmation for Brand Board members.
SB 104 - increase state matching funds for animal damage control.
17th Legislative Day

HB 1051 - make the sale or purchase of lawfully mounted fish an exception to the prohibition against the sale or purchase of fish taken from the waters of the state.
HB 1053 - repeal the prohibition against the resale of certain seized or abandoned property purchased from the secretary of game, fish and parks.
HB 1054 - authorize certain youth licensees who possess a disabled hunting permit to hunt big game animals using a designated hunter.
SB 22 - authorize counties to borrow funds for the construction and operation of solid waste management facilities through the issuance of revenue bonds and to set rates in an amount sufficient to retire the bonds.
SB 136 - repeal the provision that requires cooperatives to set aside a portion of the net proceeds as an education fund.

HB 1001 - revise certain provisions related to free access to state parks and recreation areas to include certain persons with disabilities.
HB 1004 - provide for the killing of mountain lions under certain circumstances.
SB 135 - revise certain statutes relating to the granting of certain licenses by the Animal Industry Board.

HB 1063 - revise certain brand registration provisions concerning out-of-state brands on cattle sold in the livestock inspection area.
HB 1062 - increase the reward for certain information regarding livestock thefts.
SB 188 - provide for the appointment of members of the State Brand Board by district.

SB 181 - make an appropriation for the support of the state fair.

HB 1104 - authorize a sentencing court to impose consecutive revocations of hunting, fishing, or trapping privileges under certain conditions.
HB 1111 - clarify and repeal certain redundancies in the provisions relating to the sale of substandard milk.
HB 1093 - revise the boundaries of the James River Water Development District.
31st Legislative Day
03/03/2009 Complete Meeting
HB 1167 - revise the statute of frauds with respect to the sale of grain, grain sorghums, beans, and oilseeds.
