There are 38 Legislative Days scheduled for the 2010 session.Standing Legislative Committees meet in regularly scheduled sessions during the morning hours of each Legislative Day. Some committees will hold special evening meetings. The House Health and Human Services Committee is scheduled to meet Tuesday and Thursday at 7:45am in room 412 of the Capitol.

HB 1028 - revise certain requirements for the provisional certification of interpreters for the deaf and revise certain authority to promulgate rules concerning certified interpreters for the deaf. HB 1029 - authorize the Board of Social Worker Examiners to deny, suspend, or revoke applications for licensure or licenses under certain circumstances and repeal certain physical examination provisions. HB 1043 - revise the risk pool rate methodology, to revise the number of risk pool benefit plans offered, and to revise open enrollment for uninsurable children. 12th Legislative Day 01/28/2010 Complete Meeting 14th Legislative Day 02/02/2010 Complete Meeting SB 40 - provide for the suspension of certain licenses and registrations relating to dentistry for failure to renew the license or registration. SB 39 - provide for the continuation of the minimum monthly fee charged for care at the Human Services Center. 17th Legislative Day 02/09/2010 Complete Meeting HB 1203 - provide for the regulation of acupuncturists. HB 1183 - authorize birth centers to operate in the state. HB 1204 - authorize reasonable suspicion testing and prohibit the use of controlled substances by welfare recipients. 19th Legislative Day 02/11/2010 Complete Meeting HB 1231 - provide for the monitoring of the prescribing and dispensing of controlled substances. HB 1133 - prohibit minors from using certain wireless communication devices while operating motor vehicles upon the public highways and to provide certain exceptions. HB 1230 - permit certain persons to assist women during pregnancy and childbirth under certain conditions. 21st Legislative Day 02/16/2010 Complete Meeting HB 1230 - permit certain persons to assist women during pregnancy and childbirth under certain conditions. HB 1253 - refer to a vote of the people a bill to authorize smoking in certain establishments under certain conditions. HB 1275 - extend the age limit for cochlear implants. HB 1144 - revise the Human Relations Act to include additional categories of persons. HB 1223 - provide procedures by which adopted persons may obtain their original birth certificates and the contact preference of birth parents. 23rd Legislative Day 02/18/2010 Complete Meeting SB 83 - provide for the self-administration of prescription asthma and anaphylaxis medication by students. HJR 1001 - Proposing and submitting to the electors at the next general election a new section to Article XXI of the Constitution of the State of South Dakota, relating to freedom of choice in health care. HB 1184 - revise employee sick leave used for the care of a spouse, child, or parent of the employee if the spouse, child, or parent has a serious health condition. HB 1245 - repeal the death penalty and commute certain death sentences to life imprisonment. SB 157 - authorize the construction of nursing facilities on American Indian reservations under certain circumstances. 28th Legislative Day 02/25/2010 Complete Meeting SB 96 - provide for the continuation of the waiver of the collaborative agreement requirement for certified nurse midwives providing out-of-hospital birth services. 30th Legislative Day 03/02/2010 Complete Meeting SB 92 - revise certain provisions relating to the reimbursement of referring counties for certain mental health services. SB 115 - prohibit the sale of contact lenses without a prescription.
