Once a vital transportation link between the Missouri River and the Black Hills, the old Fort Pierre to Deadwood Trail closed in 1908 - but not forever. In the summer of 2008, approximately 350 riders and 54 wagons traveled the old trail once more to celebrate the old trail and the spirit of those came before.
