"Sixty years ago today, the United States dropped an atomic bomb on the Japanese port city of Nagasaki, killing more than seventy thousand people. A few days later, one lone U-S ship was dispatched to the city: the U-S-S Tyrell. Sailor Rudi Bohlmann from the southeast South Dakota town of Menno was aboard. South Dakota Public Broadcasting's Curt Nickisch has his story.
