By Eryn ClementAs the fifth week of the Legislative session breaks into full swing, legislators are working on several bills on the House and Senate side.
The Senate Health and Human Services Committee discusses a bill that allows certain local governments to participate in the state health insurance plan. The Senate Judiciary Committee has several bills. Some focus on revising the penalty for first degree manslaughter and others address the reconfiguring of the sex offender registry. On the House side, the Commerce Committee discusses a bill that allows the issuance of an on-sale and malt beverage license for county fairgrounds. The bill also authorizes municipalities and counties to issue an additional on-sale license. The House Judiciary Committee takes legislation that revises certain provisions relating to statutory rape as well as increasing the penalty for the solicitation of minors.Member stations can download audio file here.
