Friends of South Dakota Public Broadcasting has an immediate opening for Director of Corporate Development (East River). SDPB Radio has an immediate opening for a News Director. A successful candidate will have a degree in Journalism, experience working with a staff of news professionals and some management experience. The News Director is responsible for organizing and administering all daily news coverage of the statewide SDPB Radio network, plans, researches, writes, records and edits news features, stories, and full-length documentaries for radio, and other SDPB departments; works closely with Radio, Television and Online management to determine department vision, priorities and execution of plans; may also host news programs and anchor news casts across platforms; will assist with on-air fund-raising and help with supervision and training of news interns. SDPB Engineering has an immediate opening for a Broadcast Communication Maintenance Technician. The Communications Maintenance Technician performs preventive and routine maintenance on electronic broadcast production, and microwave equipment or other broadcast system elements. This position also troubleshoots basic networking and electronic circuits, computer workstations, network printers. This is a full-time position. SDPB Marketing has an opening for a summer intern. This paid position will offer up to 40 hours per week from May-August. Duties include assisting with the writing and production of the monthly SDPB Magazine, organization and execution of activities, and assisting the SDPB Marketing Department with other projects. SDPB Television has an opening for a summer intern. This paid position will offer up to 30 hours per week from May-August. Duties include on-locations shooting, including helping haul equipment, assisting Videographers and Producers with camera, audio and light setup, assist with post production of television programs and interstitial elements.
