Chief Justice William Rehnquist returns to court, hearing oral arguments for the first time since announcing in October that he'd been diagnosed with thyroid cancer.
The first argument Rehnquist heard was one testing whether municipalities can be held financially liable if police fail to prevent an attack on someone who had gotten a restraining order against someone who was threatening them. NPR's Nina Totenberg reports.
