Dissecting Bush's Speech, Plan to Withdraw Troops

In an address to the nation Thursday night, President Bush outlined a modest beginning for troop withdrawals from Iraq. Bush's address followed the congressional testimony given earlier in the week by Gen. David Petraeus, the top U.S. commander in Iraq, and Ambassador to Iraq Ryan Crocker. Petraeus has not been as definitive about whether some 30,000 troops could return home from Iraq by next summer.
