Bark For Art

The Historic Deadwood/Lead Arts Council is pairing up with the Lead Library Endowment Board for the Bark For Art community art project.  The annual event lets participants build any type of pet house.  The houses are then donated and are being auctioned off this Saturday.

Karen Everett is the Director of the Deadwood/Lead arts council.  She says pet houses of any type are welcome.
“Yes, it’s any kind of animal house and we have said from gerbil houses, rabbit houses, cat houses, to the popular bird house, and everybody loves a big dog house,” says Everett.

Everett says they have even received a butterfly house.  Proceeds from the Bark For Art auction are split between the Deadwood/Lead Arts Council and the Lead Library Endowment Board.
