There's an old saying that If you don't like the weather in South Dakota, just wait around a few minutes and it will change. That was certainly true in the Northern Black Hills during the winter of 1943 when a warm wind brought the temperature in Spearfish from minus four degrees to 45 degrees Fahrenheit in just two minutes.... a world record for fastest temperature change that still stands.
