Sioux Falls Humane Society pleads for more adopters as kennels fill up

Robert the terrier from the Sioux Falls Humane Society
Robert has been waiting for a forever home at the Sioux Falls Humane Society since Sept. 1, 2022. Click here to see if he's still waiting.

This segment originally aired on In the Moment on SDPB Radio.

The Sioux Falls Humane Society was near capacity for dogs last week. There was a canine hoping for a forever home in almost every single one of their 80 kennels. The shelter put out a plea for adopters on social media. In one weekend, 43 animals—including 22 dogs—found forever homes.

Dana Konzem is the community outreach and marketing manager at the society. She talks about what animal lovers can do to help and makes the case on why you should open your home to a furry friend.
