Mister Rogers Neighborhood Sweater Drive

Email share

With the flip of a shoe and the zip of a cardigan at the beginning of each show, Mister Rogers announced that viewers were in a safe, comfortable place where kindness and imagination are encouraged. But not everyone in the neighborhood is fortunate enough to have warm clothes during the winter months. So, SDPB is kicking off a sweater drive. Bring your new or gently used sweaters to one of the locations listed below through March 20 (Fred Rogers’ Birthday) and we’ll donate them to neighbors in need. Drop sweaters off at:

·         SDPB Sioux Falls Studios, 601 N. Phillips Ave., Sioux Falls

·         SDPB Black Hills Studio, 415 Main St., Rapid City

·         SDPB Studios, 555 N. Dakota St., Vermillion

·         Friends of SDPB office, 418 4th St., Brookings

Fred Rogers began the Mister Rogers' Neighborhood Sweater Drive in 1997 as a way to encourage the neighborly spirit, and we're proud to continue his legacy of being a caring neighbor. Every sweater collected in the Mister Rogers' Neighborhood Sweater Drive will be donated directly to individuals in need through SDPB partners, including the Cornerstone Rescue Mission in Rapid City, the Brookings Salvation Army, and Bishop Dudley Hospitality House in Sioux Falls.
